Tackling Covid -19
We, at UNISON,have taken a proactive approach and adopted various precautionary measures for the wellbeing of our employees. When the first information of Covid-19 came in, we actively engaged with all our Branch Heads to look out for our employee's safety, and get additional COVID-19 cover to supplement all employees' Mediclaim policies. Unison was prompt in adopting technological tools to facilitate 'work from home', while providing maximum support to employees that need it.
'Work from office' was only re-started once the lockdown restrictions were eased by the Government of India. In operating from offices, several measures have been implemented to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment for all employees in all our branches, including:
To minimise contraction risk, we have introduced a rotational operation system, i.e. employees have been assigned into batches and each batch is allocated 2-3 days per week, to work from the office, following all hygiene guidelines. We have been monitoring the local situation and implementing custom solutions for different locations making allowances for employees' living in severely affected cities, such as Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru.
While most organisations around the globe have been deducting or withholding salaries or carrying out redundancies, Unison has maintained the salary and strength of all its employees. These are unprecedented times which require extraordinary measures. We believe in the value of TEAM – Together Everyone Achieves More.
